Policy

Terms of Service

Effective date: 11 June 2026. Last updated: 11 June 2026.

These Terms govern your use of Tailor (“Tailor”, “we”, “us”), provided by Fredrick (John Sydney) Vacher, a sole trader trading as Tailor, at tailor-resume.com. By using the service you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Tailor helps you tailor a CV to a specific job description. You can paste or upload an existing CV, set a target role, and use our AI-powered builder to analyse, rewrite, and edit it. You can then export the result as a PDF.

2. Accounts

You can try the builder without signing in. You need an account to save projects, purchase credits, or download a PDF. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity carried out under your account. We confirm your email address before allowing checkout.

3. Credits, pricing, and exports

  • Building, analysing, and editing a CV in the builder is free.
  • Downloading the final tailored CV as a PDF costs 1 credit per download.
  • Credits are sold in bundles on the Pricing page at the prices shown there at the time of purchase.
  • Credits never expire.
  • Re-downloads of the same saved version are free — once you have paid 1 credit to export a version of a project, you can re-download that exact version any time without spending another credit. Producing a new version after further edits is a new export and costs 1 credit.
  • Credits are non-transferable between accounts and have no cash value outside the service.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe in an embedded checkout. We do not see or store your card details. By completing checkout you authorise Stripe to charge the displayed amount to your chosen payment method.

5. Refunds

If a purchase fails or you are charged in error, contact us at fredrick.vacher@outlook.com and we will work with you on a resolution. Approved refunds are issued through Stripe; when a refund is processed, the corresponding number of credits is automatically deducted from your balance. Credits that have already been spent on a download are generally non-refundable, except where required by law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to create content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or infringes anyone’s rights.
  • Submit a CV or details that do not belong to you, or impersonate another person.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or interfere with the operation of the service.
  • Use the service to generate misleading credentials, qualifications, employment history, or other facts you cannot substantiate.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

7. AI output and accuracy — your responsibility

Tailor uses an AI model to rewrite and improve the CV text you provide. The tool is designed to rewrite information you supply — not to invent qualifications, employers, dates, or achievements. However, AI output can still contain mistakes, ambiguities, or phrasing that does not match your intent.

You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying the final CV before submitting it to anyone. You confirm that the facts you submit (employers, dates, qualifications, etc.) are true, and that the final exported document accurately represents you.

8. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the CV content you submit and of the exported PDFs you produce. You grant us a limited licence to process that content as necessary to provide the service (including sending it to our AI subprocessor). We retain ownership of the Tailor brand, application, and underlying software.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we process and why, and our Storage & retention page sets out how long each type of data is kept.

10. Service availability

We aim to keep Tailor available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Where reasonably possible we will give notice of material changes that affect paid users.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of AI output, or that the service will help you secure any particular role, interview, or outcome.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) GBP 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

13. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time and request account deletion in-app. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (payments owed, IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Your continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
